Denomination
The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) is a rapidly growing multi-ethnic denomination in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents of the world. Founded in 1885 by Swedish immigrants, the ECC values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of God’s grace and ever-deepening spiritual life that comes through a faith with Jesus Christ, the importance of extending God’s love and compassion to a hurting world, and the strength that comes from unity within diversity. We have more than 850 congregations throughout the U.S. and Canada. We have mission partnerships around the globe in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, and North Africa, joining the global church in extending the whole gospel across cultures and around the world. About God
We believe in one God who loves us and is still at work in the world today.
He exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—Creator of all, full of power, love, and glory.
Genesis 1:1 · Matthew 28:19
About Jesus
We believe Jesus shows us what God is like and makes new life possible.
Fully God and fully human, He lived without sin, died for us, rose again, and will return to restore all things.
John 1:1–14 · 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
About the Holy Spirit
We believe God is present with us today.
The Holy Spirit renews, guides, and empowers us to become more like Jesus.
John 14:16–17 · Romans 8:11
About Scripture
We believe the Bible is how we come to know God and His story.
It is inspired, trustworthy, and shapes how we live and follow Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:16–17
About Humanity
We believe every person has dignity, value, and purpose.
Created in God’s image, we also experience brokenness and need God’s grace.
Genesis 1:27 · Romans 3:23
About Salvation
We believe new life is a gift, not something we earn.
Through Jesus, we are forgiven, restored, and welcomed into God’s family.
Ephesians 2:8–9
About Worship
We believe worship is a way of life.
We respond to God through prayer, community, generosity, and the way we live.

About Justice
We believe faith shows up in how we love and serve others.
God calls us to pursue justice, care for the vulnerable, and work toward restoration in our communities.
Micah 6:8 · Luke 4:18
About Community + Sexuality
We believe in living with both truth and love.
We hold to a historic Christian view of marriage and sexuality, and we are committed to being a community where everyone is welcomed, valued, and invited to walk with Jesus at their own pace.
Ephesians 4:15 · Romans 8:1
